Family Tree Maker is the most popular program for recording your family history and creating and publishing numerous charts and reports. It is also closely linked with Ancestry.ca. During the seminar, we will use the latest version “live” to demonstrate and provide examples for questions of interest.
Since there are two books devoted to FTM 2012 for a total of more than 700 pages, Lorraine Gosselin will select the areas she has found most interesting and most useful while working on her own genealogy.
If there are subjects that are of special interest to you, please let Lorraine Gosselin know at computree "at" yahoo.com before May 25, and she will try to include them. Note: You do not have to use the latest version to learn from this seminar.

Family History Writing (Special Interest Group)
12:00 pm to 1:30 pm - QFHS Heritage Centre and Library, 173 Cartier Avenue, Pointe-Claire
Join us at our end-of-season picnic where we will discuss our writing plans and challenges.
We will meet at noon at the QFHS Heritage Centre and Library and then travel together to a nearby park. (If it rains, we have alternate plans.) At 1:30 p.m., we will return to QFHS for Celebrating Our Quebec Roots Day for dessert and chatting with our friends.

Celebrating Our Quebec Roots Day (Roots Day)

Just in time for la Fête Saint-Jean, let's get together to celebrate our ancestors who came to Quebec. We will also celebrate the 350th anniversary of Les Filles du roi. On display will be books and resources about Quebec genealogy and history.
Drop by for coffee, tea, and informal conversation to talk about some of your favourite Quebec resources -- books and online.
Bring a friend, your own favourite books and resources that have helped you research your Quebec ancestors, or just bring yourself.
